We want you to love what you purchase. If a premium template or CV website subscription doesn't meet your expectations, we offer a straightforward 14-day refund window. No hoops to jump through, no questions designed to wear you down.

Overview

FreeCV.org offers both free and premium services. Our core CV builder remains completely free, but we also offer premium templates and CV website hosting for users who want an extra edge.

All paid purchases are processed securely through Paddle, our authorized payment provider. This refund policy covers every paid product and service offered through FreeCV.org.

The short version: 14-day money-back guarantee on all purchases. If you're not satisfied, we'll refund you — simple as that.

Eligible Purchases

The following purchases are covered by our refund policy:

Refundable

  • Premium CV templates
  • CV website subscriptions
  • Template bundles or packs
  • Any other paid feature on FreeCV.org

Not Refundable

  • Purchases made over 14 days ago
  • Services obtained through fraud or abuse
  • Chargebacks already filed with your bank
  • Free features (nothing to refund)

Refund Timeframe

You have 14 calendar days from the date of purchase to request a refund. This applies to all paid products and services.

  • Day 1 starts on the date the payment is processed
  • Day 14 is the last day you can submit a refund request
  • Requests received after the 14-day window will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis

Why 14 days?

We chose 14 days because it gives you plenty of time to explore the premium features and decide if they're right for you. This also aligns with EU consumer protection standards, ensuring fairness no matter where you are.

How to Request a Refund

Requesting a refund is straightforward. Here's what to do:

  1. Visit our Contact Page and select "Refund Request" as the subject
  2. Include your purchase details: the email address used for payment and the approximate date of purchase
  3. Tell us why (optional but helpful) — your feedback helps us improve

That's it. No lengthy forms, no support ticket ping-pong. We aim to acknowledge every refund request within 1 business day.

Important: Please contact us before filing a chargeback with your bank. Chargebacks take longer to resolve and may result in temporary suspension of your account. We're always happy to resolve things directly and quickly.

Exceptions

While we aim to be as generous as possible, there are a few situations where refunds may not be granted:

  • Repeated refund abuse: If a pattern of purchasing and immediately requesting refunds is detected, we reserve the right to decline future refund requests
  • Fraudulent transactions: Purchases made with stolen payment methods or through other fraudulent means
  • Violation of Terms of Service: If your account was suspended due to a breach of our Terms of Service

Even in edge cases, we'll always communicate clearly and give you a chance to respond before making a final decision.

Processing & Timing

Once your refund request is approved, here's what to expect:

  • Approval: Within 1–2 business days of your request
  • Processing: Paddle processes the refund within 5–10 business days
  • Back to your account: Depending on your bank or payment provider, it may take an additional 3–5 business days to appear on your statement

Refunds are issued to the original payment method used at the time of purchase. We cannot process refunds to a different payment method.

Paddle handles payment processing

All transactions are processed by Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record. Refunds will appear on your statement from Paddle, not FreeCV.org. This is normal and expected.

Subscriptions & Cancellations

For subscription-based services like CV website hosting:

  • Cancel anytime. You can cancel your subscription at any point — no cancellation fees, no penalties
  • Access until period ends. After cancellation, you'll retain access to your premium features until the end of your current billing period
  • First payment refundable. Your first subscription payment is eligible for a full refund within the 14-day window
  • Recurring payments. Refunds for subsequent billing cycles are handled on a case-by-case basis

How to Cancel

You can cancel your subscription through the Paddle customer portal link included in your purchase confirmation email. Alternatively, reach out to us via our Contact Page and we'll handle it for you.

Our Free Service

Just to be clear: our core CV builder is and always will be free. Premium templates and CV website hosting are optional upgrades. You never need to pay to create, edit, and download a professional CV on FreeCV.org.

If you purchased a premium feature by mistake, let us know and we'll sort it out immediately — no questions asked.
