The Story Behind FreeCV

It started with a genuinely annoying observation. Every decent CV builder out there wanted a subscription. Not a small one either. We're talking $15, $20, sometimes $30 a month just to download your own CV as a PDF.

And here's what made that really frustrating. The people who need a good CV the most, fresh graduates, people switching careers, folks between jobs, are exactly the ones who can't justify paying that. So they end up with a bad CV and wonder why they're not getting callbacks.

Abd built FreeCV out of a pretty straightforward frustration with how things worked. Good jobs were going to people with polished CVs, and polished CVs required software that cost money. That loop bothered him enough to do something about it.
